Linda Stephan, RN, MSN, MSc, CPNP-PC

Associate Clinical Professor

Linda Stephan, RN, MSN, MSc, CPNP-PC, is an accomplished faculty member in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing at the UCSF School of Nursing. With over two decades of experience in healthcare, her academic background includes a BS in Cell and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara, a BSN and MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s in Health Policy Planning and Financing from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Transformative Leadership at Rush University.

Linda's professional focus spans pediatrics, health policy, and health promotion, with a strong emphasis on healthcare economics and competency-based education. Her contributions to healthcare policy, both at UCSF and internationally, include her role as a health policy consultant with the World Health Organization, where she contributed to critical health economic evaluations.

She has a robust teaching portfolio, offering courses in clinical reasoning, health promotion, and policy and leadership. In addition, Linda is deeply involved in UCSF’s structural competency initiatives, addressing social determinants of health and racial equity in healthcare.

Linda's extensive experience, particularly in policy analysis and implementation, makes her a valuable educator in UCSF’s MS-HAIL program, where she leverages her expertise to foster leadership and policy development among healthcare professionals.
