Application Deadlines:

The MS in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership Program welcomes healthcare professionals from a range of clinical and non-clinical roles and from all sectors of the healthcare industry. As you go through the application process, you will have an admissions advisor who will work with you to answer questions, assist you with the online application to ensure that you meet the application deadlines, and confirm that your application materials are complete.

Applications are reviewed by the program admissions committee after the deadline, and decisions are typically made 2-3 weeks following the application deadline. You will be notified of our decision by email and can also view the decision within the status page of your online application. 

Admissions Requirements:

• Submission of a completed online application.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0
• Official academic transcripts of undergraduate degree(s) coursework, any other degrees, and any other college/university courses completed. Applicants who completed degrees and/or course work outside of the U.S. must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation in English from a credential evaluation service that is a member of NACES, such as World Education Services or Education Credential Evaluators. Transcripts and/or credential evaluations should be sent directly from the awarding institution or evaluation service to [email protected].  If the institution does not provide digital transcripts the school/agency should mail official paper transcripts to:

• Applicants must be employed within a healthcare environment while in the program  - with a minimum of 6 months full-time professional or management healthcare experience. 
• Resume/CV
• Three letters of reference are required. One must be from a former faculty or someone who can speak to your academic potential, a second from someone well acquainted with your professional preparation, experience and potential for leadership, and a third from an administrator within your healthcare organization.
• Personal and Goal Statements
• A statement describing a potential Quality Improvement Capstone Project Idea
• Proficiency in English and academic writing.  (see FAQ for more details on academic writing skills)

     Applicants whose first language is not English must either: 

1. Take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)  UCSF code 4840) and achieve a minimum overall TOEFL score of 92 (Internet-based test) or 213 (computer-based test), or take the IELTS – the International English Language Testing System and achieve a minimum score of 7. Test scores are valid for a maximum of two years from the test date, or
2. Demonstrate proficiency in English by completing one year of full-time study with a minimum GPA of 3.0 at a regionally accredited college or university in the U.S.
